My path to art
After training as a photographer in Bad Reichenhall and Munich, I spent several years working in the field. As the manager of a fine-art print gallery and a freelance photographer, I devoted many years to black-and-white portrait photography and to the perfect composition of image, mount and frame.
Moving to Lake Attersee in 1997, the scenic beauty of the Upper Austrian lake district opened up new perspectives for my artistic work. With the turn of the millennium I focused on the new possibilities of digital photography and increasingly turned my attention to painting. My path led from charcoal drawings and pastel portraits to acrylics and various mixed-media techniques.
I have always sharpened my craft by taking part in specialised courses and — since 2017 — at the Kunstakademie Bad Reichenhall, across various fields and techniques.
